Chemo round 6 Starts with a bang or should I say tumble !
Hi folks ,
Chemo round 6 in the books as of Wed . Special thanks to my dear friend Pat Hebden for unhooking my home pump and line yesterday in my daughters Emily’s absence . She is in NS for a few weeks but bless her she calls or messages every day to be sure I am ok and taking meds !
My chemo appointment went well no issues this time and a really sweet nurse. My feet however were completely numb when I got home .
I thought they had warmed up by 7:30 pm (Ken and Andrew were out on an errand ) and I decided to go upstairs and get ready for bed. We have 10 steps that go up to a small landing then you can go up 6 steps to bonus room one way or 6 steps up to bedrooms the other way . I headed to the bedrooms using the hand rail when I got to the to the top step and ran out of hand railing I realized my feet were still numb and tumbled back down the 6 steps and up 2 steps the other side ! Quite a sight I am sure !
Then of course I started to cry ,had a bit of a panic attack and with breathing in all the cooler air I had a reaction again with the lips and this time my throat also constricted and it was hard to breath . After I had calmed myself down I was able to reach my phone and called the boys to come help .
They were great one arm each and they had me up and headed to bed . Feet thawed out about 2 hours later and I am now banned from the stairs without supervision ! Andrew doesn’t think I should be left alone at all and he is glad he has been working out lol!
Hoping I won’t be as tired this time but they tell me it is cumulative and that my sense of taste doesn’t leave me . The cold sensitivity and neuropathy of fingers and especially toes seems to be getting a bit worse .
DREAM UPDATE
Since round 5 whenever I go back to the room where I was seeing people there is a big sign in my Dads bold printing that says NO ROOM ……A . YOUNG ( my Dads name ) and a picture of a cartoon man’s face he used to draw and I copy )
Ok Dad you win I get the message . I will try to be thankful I saw so many relatives and that they seemed happy , instead of being sad I can’t see more .
I wish you all a nice weekend and hope you are enjoying the nice weather !
Take care

Thinking of you Susan❤️ I am so proud of your family and that Katie’s kids are such a part of your life. It seems that the qualities that I loved so much about Katie are there in her children. It says a lot about you and ken. Take care.
