I’m back
Round 3 of chemo didn’t go as well as I had hoped . Lots of nausea and unreal fatigue . I had heard chemo fatigue was a real thing but I am at a loss for words to describe. Your limbs and hands feel so heavy that you can’t pick up a water glass, your hips are sore from laying in bed but turning over seems like an insurmountable task. You look at stairs and have to conjure up the spirit of Sir Edmund Hillary to get you up them . Any way that’s how I have felt for the last 2 weeks but round 4 starts in 2 days so gotta get my sh** together in a hurry ! On the positive side ,I had a lovely Mothers Day the kids decorated my bedroom with pictures and flowers ! The girls , Brooklynn and Rhiannon had a lemonade stand sale and made $100 to take to NS with them for their big summer holiday ! Andrew had his grade 9 farewell ,he looked so handsome ,very proud of him! Andrew got his learners and has been practicing driving with Ken and both have survived ! Thanks to my friends and family who have been so thoughtful with cards ,calls, texts, food and care packages ,we appreciate it so much ! I can’t help but be reminded of the poem “Footsteps “ in the verse where it says “I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.” I feel like my family and friends have been carrying me and I want to thank you all for that . Take care Susan xx
